At nICE1 we are excited and proud to announce our partnership with Richard Allen, a versatile athlete whose journey has been marked by dedication, resilience, and an unquenchable passion for running.

As proud sponsors, we are thrilled to share his story – a journey where he started as a triathlete, leading to European and World elite u23 duathlon championships, and ultimately then finding his true calling in the world of running.

Richard embarked on his athletic journey as a promising triathlete, earning a coveted spot in the England talent squad during his junior years. These early experiences laid the foundation for what would become a remarkable career.

In 2015 Richard made a pivotal decision to train at the prestigious Leeds Triathlon Centre. This choice would prove instrumental as he emerged as the European and World elite u23 duathlon champion in 2017.

Despite his undeniable talent in duathlon, Richard recognised that his heart belonged to running. The decision to shift his focus from multi-sport to pure running was not easy, but it was a choice guided by passion and the pursuit of excellence. This transition would prove to be a turning point in his career.

In 2018, Richard showed the world that he was a force to be reckoned with in the world of running. He clinched the National 5k championship title and secured a remarkable second-place finish in the British 10k championships.

Notable personal bests continued to be achieved as he posted impressive times of 7:54 for 3k, 13:51 for 5k, and 28:54 for 10k, cementing their status as a rising star in distance running. In 2019, he embarked on his first half marathon at the Wokingham Half, securing an impressive second-place finish with a time of 65:15.

Athletic careers are often marked by challenges, and Richard's journey was no exception. He faced injury and illness setbacks that tested his resolve. It wasn't until late 2022 that he began to regain his competitive edge, finishing second in the Home Countries international 5k in Cardiff.

As Richard looks ahead to the future, he remains as determined as ever. His goals for the remainder of 2023 include setting a new 10k road personal best at the Leeds Abbey Dash, qualifying for the European XC championships in December, and aiming for a podium finish at the National XC championships in February next year.

The story of Richard is one of unwavering determination, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. At nICE1 we are honoured to support this athlete on their journey as they continue to inspire us with their achievements and dedication to the sport of running.

Stay tuned as we follow Richard's journey, and together, we celebrate the unwavering spirit of this athlete.
